Is concealed carry allowed at University of Connecticut?

Are the students of University of Connecticut allowed to carry on campus or in our cars? I ask this because i will be transfering and come Junior year I will be eligable for a concealed carry permit. With all of the campus shootings it would be nice to know if we are allowed to protect ourselves.

As a fellow college student I hear your need to ask this, as I have and I understand what stands now. At my campus personally I would not trust my life, or others with campus security guards. It is not against the law for you to carry on CT Campuses; however you risk expulsion of the institution because of campus policy if you are caught. My best advice, store it in a way where you can get to it easily without anyone finding it(example nosey roomates), maybe one of those fingerprint scanning storage boxes, and don't tell anyone you wouldn’t trust carrying themselves. Well in that case id probably carry something very small such as a PX4 sub compact and only if I really thought I was in danger. Which college do you attend?

The following list of behaviors is intended to represent the types of acts that constitute violations of The Student Code. Although the list is extensive, it should not be regarded as all-inclusive. All community members are responsible for knowing and observing all University policies and procedures...

10. Use, possession, or distribution of, firearms, weapons, facsimile of weapons, fireworks, explosives, or dangerous chemicals.

Up to you to weight the risks/benefits of doing as you're contemplating.

I personally wouldn't live in a dorm there if I were going to be violating this policy.

If I thought knew when I was in danger, I wouldn't go to, or I would leave where danger was.

Yeah I tend not to engage in questionable acts so there is no occasion for them to search me. To be honest id rather fancy them tell me i was in big trouble when I was lawfully allowed to carry. God forbid an eagle scout and ROTC cadet be allowed to carry you know because we cause so much trouble...
