Is it worthwhile for me to get a carry permit?

I would say not to bother with it. Being that your only 18, and in HS, with plans of going to college, I would say don't bother. Personally, I think that 18 is way too young (I'm only 20). Graduate from HS, goto college, get a few years behind you (turn 21), and re-assess the situation.

At 18, and in HS, you probably still don't have the mindset to carry. Lets face it.. HS is a very immature place, and reguardless of your individual maturity, it does rub off on you. Not to mention, waiting to turn 21 gives you 3 years to get your hormones under control.

They way I feel about it is if I can carry a gun in the battlefield and risk my life for my country I should be allowed to carry. :fire: I find your comments very offensive.

I really don't like it when people think of younger people as less mature. Sure, there are some immature ones out there, but i have met some really mature (responsible) teenagers.

Last thing we need is lecturing.

Cyanide, I was 19 years old when I had a situation happen to me where I couldn't carry concealed due to the 21 age restrictions of Florida law. Open carry wasn't an option either.

So I was left with nothing. I'm lucky that they caught the guy.

This "rub off on you mentality" crap has got to go. Either assign personal responsibility to everyone, or keep it to yourself. I certainly did not have the "High School" mentality in high school. I went to college a year early, at age 17.

So please, don't make assumptions. There are some 40 year olds I won't trust with guns.

Ok,

This really intrigues me, as I would have assumed they would have thought of this and written a 21 and up etc etc. But it seems clear it is 21 to apply not to carry and there are no restrictions on actual carrying (for example if you were in fact a resident of NH). I would not recommend it by any means, but I can see nothing that would prevent it from being legit.

I would print this out and carry it with me at all times in addition to the NH permit.

You are clearly skirting the intent of the PA law, but the way the law is worded it seems ok.

As said before, you do not want to be the test case, but I would not feel half bad defending it.

The biggest way you would get found out is the frisk and the door etc. then call the police.

They will Terry you for being in the wrong place, reasonable or not, they will make stuff up.
