Is possable to rebarrel a Rem 742/760?

I have a 760 with a rough bore. At first glance the breech appears to be integral with the barrel, but I am certain it is not. Is it pressed on or threaded on? Has anyone here had one of the Rem pump/semi 7** series guns rebarreled? It's a 30-06. Should I just rebore to .338-06?

Yes it is possible. The extension is threaded on. One of the gunsmiths I work with has re-barreled a few and has made up some jigs for the extension removal.
