I have been reloading 380 auto with Winchester brass only. Purchased 100 Starline 380 brass and loaded. Crushed and spilt the side of eight Starline cases.
Never had this problem before,

Just curious if I am correct. Have always heard good things about Starline brass.

I have used the Starline Brass in 45-70 and 45 LC as well as 44 MAG. In what I have observed the Starline is thicker walled than WIN and FC. You may be splitting the brass because the expander is not expanding it enough before inserting the bullet. Try adjusting it on a couple to see how it works.

.....same here.

Hornady is coming out with a different powder thru expander for the LNL powder made for lead. That may do the trick for me.
