Ok, this is just wild speculation on my part but, if I remember correctly, this is how it began last time. Just last week I saw these at my local shop for $550 on-sale. Hopefully they are simply rethinking their pricing but I wouldn't count on it.

I think they are great shooting guns. Too thick to carry IMHO but they shoot awesome.
Would it be against the TOS to post the name of the company? I don't want to come across as spamming or advertising for them.

Post the name... If it is CDNN then the answer might be yes they will be going away for the 5th time. LOL

I know that Dan's ammo has had some at that price for a while now. I used to own a few Steys. A M9, M40, S9 and S40. Sold them all after my S40's frame cracked.

PS Looks like a SOG add to me.... :)

SOG

Not sure I'm buying the whole "These are overruns from a government contract and won't last long".

I sold mine. IMO they don't shoot all that well. Finish is poor and they are pretty bulky. Some people swear by them.

I hope not becaue that would dash my hopes that they will someday license somebody else to make the AUG again.

My M40-A1 is probably the best polymer I've shot/owned, it makes for a great deep carry IWB. Great ergonomics, trigger and accuracy. Built like a G20 and what the Glock 22/23 should have evolved to.

Never realized how fugly those are, makes a Glock look good.

Unfortunately you're right on that. I think it's mostly the frame underneath the barrel. The accessory rail is not only squaring it off, but it's also placed WAY below the barrel, making it just look too thick in that area. Can't be only that though. The S&W Sigma is shaped the same way in the front and though no beauty queen, that pistol still looks a lot better.

Tis a shame - these actually are very nice on paper, but even at this price I don't see myself jumping on one. Too many other things on the wishlist.

I have an old M9 and love the way it shoots. Love the sights too. I wouldn't buy another one though. Just trying finding an accessory for one. Also not sure I'd buy from a dealer that doesn't know the difference between a M9 and a M9A1. lol

I hope they keep importing them though. They are good pistols and maybe if more people buy them, more holsters will be made for them.

Looking at the picture, it would appear that they don't have A1 printed on the slide.

Had one of the original M9's---loved the gun but it was during the ban--came with 10 rounders and only 10 rounders were available and they weren't cheap.

Sold it for a standard capacity 9mm---which is kind of the whole point of having a 9 in the first place.

I have an M9. I liked it so much I got an M40A1. I prefer my Steyr to my glocks and sigs. The only thing that I really like about the glocks more is that getting certain accessories is cheaper and easier. Things like a threaded barrel or .22 conversion. I have no issue finding general things such as a holster, mag pouches, springs, mags etc.

For $400 I may just have to get one. What I'd really like is a S9 or S9A1.

Owned an M9-A1 for a while. Did not care for the tiny mag release button or vague trigger reset.

On the plus side, the pistol feels great in hand, and they're very soft shooting for their caliber.

But I have owned several polymer-framed 9mm's I prefer to the Steyr from Glock, Walther and Sig.
