My buddy that was trying yesterday that was getting a message about the server being down was able to get in later in the day so keep trying for those who still need to do it. And worse case, print off the form 1 and mail it in tomorrow.
Tomorrow is post 41F.
"PLEASE NOTE: Final Rule 41F becomes effective JULY 13, 2016. Applications received with a post-mark of July 13, 2016 and after will be processed according to the specifications of 41F."

Where'd you get that idea?
Due to the provisions of 41F the ATF Forms 1 and 5 are temporarily unavailable for submission through the eForms system. The forms were removed to allow ATF the opportunity to revise the forms and the workflows associated with the forms to incorporate the new requirements of 41F. While we do not have a specific date as to when the forms will be available again, we are working diligently to bring these forms back at a future point in time.
Since you currently cannot do fingerprints & passport photos in their system and Trusts now require those, e-filing form 1's is done. I don't see them implementing anything new that works anytime soon but hopefully I'm wrong.Where'd you get that idea?
You don't Form 1 a Suppressor, it requires a Form 4That's what my wife just told me about the suppressor i was gonna form 1...
Hmmm, I called the BATFE on July 8, and was told trust applications had to be postmarked by the 13th to be processed under the older rules. I guess calling them for help is like calling the IRS.Tomorrow is post 41F.

Thats odd... I have an approved Form 1 for a suppressor and two pre-41f Form 1s pending for cans as well...You don't Form 1 a Suppressor, it requires a Form 4
You can form 1 a suppressor, form 1 is for building, form 4 is for buying. Many people like to build their own suppressors. Some have more talent than others. You don't Form 1 a Suppressor, it requires a Form 4

There is a lot more pressure coming out of a large center fire caliber than a motorcycle exhaust I would think. And there's a lot of factors like material (do you want aluminum, titanium, steel), full auto rated, thread patterns and tolerances. Not to mention making it look good, I just think depending on someone's skill it's easier to make a factory-like suppressor or (in my case) nothing close to it lol.A suppressor is nothing more than a small volume muffler. I built my first muffler for a motorcycle when i was 13, so a suppressor shouldn't be that difficult...

The pressure is significantly higher, especially at the first baffle, but the heat is similar, and no full auto in the world can compete with the cyclic rate of a high performance 4CYL. With a lathe and a mill the tolerances are pretty easy to achieve, and the concept is similar to a muffler. Complicated, yes. Hard? No.There is a lot more pressure coming out of a large center fire caliber than a motorcycle exhaust I would think.
