I have read posts saying that if you goof up on your eForms there is no way to correct them, and that all ATF can do is reject them and refund your money. Well, it would seem that they are working on trying to be more helpful as much as they can.

I submitted an eForm 1 for a SBR back in March right before they took the system down. It was a big pain and I had to do things multiple times as the site crashed, uploads failed, etc. after 3-4 hours I finally had it submitted and paid, but about a month ago as I was expecting an approval soon I looked at the form I had submitted and discovered I hadn't filled out the section on why you intend to make the firearm. I guess during the last crash I had rushed through filling it out for the nth time and had skipped that line. Damn! I expected to get a rejection and to have to start all over again once they sent my money back, so I just sort of put it out of my mind.

Fast forward to last week when there was a message from the ATF on my answering machine with a message about what I did wrong and instructions on how to resubmit with the missing line filled in. I called and talked to the fellow who called (not the examiner) and on Monday morning the approved form showed up in my email :D:)

Needless to say I'm quite appreciative of their assistance because they could just have tossed me to the back of the line since it was my dumb mistake to omit one of the lines of required info. While we may not like the existence of the NFA itself it would seem that at least some of the folks who work for the NFA branch are willing to make an effort to help their customers out.

Lets hope its a real change to the system.

I had three rejected because the site offered selections in the drop-down menu and accepted by the form "validation" that they would not approve.

I hope this is a general solution for minor mistakes on the submissions.
