Is the FNP45 USG worth the upgrade over the non-USG?

This will be primarily a range gun. It looks to be at least $100 more from what I can find. This seems to be the difference:
The only real differences between the regular FNP-45 and the FNP-USG (US Govt) is that the USG has the added serrations on the slide front, a SAFE position on the Selector Switch (intead of just a Decocker) and comes with one 15 rd magazines plus the two 14 rd mags, instead of just the three 14 rd mags.

I am not very experience with autos. If I use the decocker, the gun is essentially in "safe" mode, right? The 15rd mag doesn't seem a huge upgrade for range use. I'm not sure about the forward slide serrations.

thanks

I just bought an FNP45 USG last week. It is completely up to you...it basically comes down to "do you want an external, manual safety?" How do you intend to keep it...condition 1, etc? If you carry it loaded, round chambered, and decocked all you need to do is pull the trigger and it will still fire. The trigger pull will just be a little longer and heavier.

personal preference. For a range gun, I would not do it. Heck even for a carry gun I would prefer a decocker as opposed to a manual safety. But again, that's just me.

And a decocker is not a "safety", it just makes the first trigger pull after decocking longer and take more pressure to pull

I like the different switch on the USGs, the regular FNP one is just more obtrusive to me than it needs to be, don't want front serrations, and the 15 round mag instead, eh, take it or leave it. Would probably be my second mag for carry, because why not.

$100 better, well, I don't know about that. Fifty I think would be a little more expensive than it should be for just the switch (what I want out of it) but would be acceptable to me.

$20 I would take the USG for sure. no hesitation, even with the front serrations.
