I am using once-fired LC brass. Is the service rifle data in the Hornady book OK to use with LC Brass, or do I need to reduce the powder?

If I reduce, how much do I reduce?

Does the Hornady book specify what kind of cases were used for the load?
If not, you better be safe and assume it was commercial brass and lower the charge.

As far as how much - the old NRA formula basically calls for a 12% reduction in powder for milspec cases and I've found that works pretty well.

Winchester 748. I was going to use 44 grains, but now I wonder if I should reduce to 40 grains because of the Lake City brass.

Bullets are Hornady 155 grain A-Max, and 150 grain FMJ-BT.

As a general rule GI brass requires a reduction in starting charge when working up a load. Mark's 12% NRA rule is probably appropriate but no matter what: ALWAYS WORK UP THE LOAD FOR YOUR PARTICULAR WEAPON! and watch for signs of excessive pressure!

My gun may take max loads but yours may not ...and visa-versa. Especially with GI stuff! Those manuals are merely suggestions (read the disclaimer!)
