is there a better place to buy a dillon 650 than grafs?

I called extreme reloading, and they said the discount does not apply to dillon presses themselves, then they called back and said it did, and that the shipping would probably be something like 40 bucks. so I guess I'm back to grafs.

I bought direct from Dillon. Shipping a bit high but no sales tax. Dillon will create a customer number for you which is beneficial for small item orders, warranties and questions. I still have an older machine as well (450) and they still support me with warranty parts along with my new Dillon.

I have ordered a lot of stuff from both. I like them both. I go with whoever currently has the stuff in stock and who comes in with the lowest total price including shipping.

I just ordered my 650 from Brian Enos. He's a little cheaper than Dillon and Brian will answer any questions you have with a lot of experience. Dillon customer service reps are great as well but Brian supports many forums and has his own forum.

Shipping is straight from Dillon. I live here in Arizona and got my press in one day. My casefeeder was backordered. I got it the next day.:)

Buy the press from Brian Enos

grafs is also a great place to buy supplies, and parts, including Dillon stuff

I like getting the Dillon catalog too :D

Support all 3

Brian also has his 'As it should be selection'. Items that should be included with every press.
My local LGS sells 550's about 5 to 1 over 650's. Part of this is start up cost, part is cost of conversions for a 550 vs 650.

But, the 550 is NOT designed for a case feeder, so the addition of a case feeder cost more than a case feeder for 650. I believe the case feeder's also cause an increase in conversion costs for a 550.

You can add a bullet feeder to a 650 fairly easily (5 stations). A little more difficult with a 550 (4 stations).

My suggestion, if you go blue, is you can start basic and build on it. That is easiest to do on a 650. 550, fewer options.

Oh yeah Life Time Warranty. Call them up, tell them what part broke, they send a replacement. No questions asked.

Have an older press? Send it in, usually for about $75 they do a complete rebuild and refurb. Upgrading to any improvements made since the press was first manufactured.
Just food for thought.
