Is there a "standard"/known/good W231 load for 158 LSWC in .38 Special?

Lee TL 358-158-2R tumble lube round nose with 4.0 W231. COL is 1.500". Light roll crimp same as Hooda and jwbfx4. Crimp where your bullet dictates and tune the powder +/- .1 or .2 gr and see what your gun prefers.

3.7-3.8 with a 158 BB SWC at 1.465" is really nice in my 6" 686. That moves it at about 759fps for a 120 PF is you're an icore shooter. You may want to buffer this with a couple of tenths depending on what your SD is. Also, I've found 244 does just about the same with this bullet, maybe a few fps faster but in the same ballpark.

My standard 38 revolver load is 3.8 grains HP-38 topped off with an Acme coated 158 grain SWC crimped on the crimp groove. This is my triple wide trailer load...meaning...there's enough room in the case that I don't worry about COL.
