after reading all these posts about Wipe Out for the last few years, I finally decided to try it. I had doubts about it, as I had used other foaming cleaners that make the same claims as to their cleaning ability.

I cleaned several milsurp rifles with Wipe Out AFTER cleaning them with another foaming cleaner that claimed to dissolve copper AND then cleaning them with M-Pro 7 after that. I thought for sure that after cleaning with both of those cleaners, that the barrels would be clean. Man was I wrong.... Wipe Out got so much more gunk out of the barrels that I was amazed......

and then I begin to wonder..... is there even another cleaner I have not tried yet that is even better? If so, please let me know.

Second question..... the instructions for Wipe Out say not to use oil in the barrel because it already has a rust preventative in it..... what are your thoughts on that? I went ahead and cleaned the barrels again and oiled them until I know about the rust preventatives in Wipe Out.

I've been using Wipe-Out for the last 5 years, and haven't used a brush during that time. I've had excellent results with Wipe-Out and highly recommend it. I don't oil my barrels after using Wipe-Out, and haven't had any rust.

I think wipe-out might be the best. Are you using the foaming type or the wipe-out patch-out(same thing but stays liquid)? Because I am reading over the instructions for the patch-out and it doesn't say not to use oil after cleaning??? So what i've been doing is after I am finished cleaning the bore with wipe-out I run a patch with Eezox through the bore.

Flank.... I'm using both the foaming cleaner and the patch out..... the instructions on both say that oil is not needed.... but as I live in a very humid area, I just can't imagine not using oil.
