I came across this on Amazon. It's called Trail Safe: Averting Threatening Human Behavior in the Outdoors , by Michael Bane. The reviews on Amazon look good, but has anyone here read it?

I haven't seen that book, but it might be interesting to see what he thinks is the solution.
Personally, I have my own solution. When I'm on the trail, and that is quite often, I carry the same solution I do when not on the trail.
