So I got my first handgun, an xd9 sc. Bought it used. Fired 100 rounds through it so far, 50 fmj, 50jhp. No failures what so ever, love the gun so far.
So I've been carrying for a few days and tonight for whatever reason I decided to check it out. All I did was rack the slide to eject the current round, and continue to do it through the whole magazine just to make sure everything was moving correctly. Then it jammed. Not sure what type exactly. The slide was stuck open, and the current round was still chambered and the magazine was stuck. After some play I finally got it to eject.
Loaded the magazine back up and tried it again. Same result at the fourth or fifth round. This time I was able to release the mag easier and then tilted the gun back to get the round out of the chamber.
Both times the slide locks up and the round is seated in the chamber. Is this normal? Should I not be doing what I was doing? Any help is appreciated!
