I doubt the OP is a dealer. That is an email from CDNN. Try not to be such a newbie Zanad.

Not sure if this is the BEST deal, but it is definitely a good one. I saw it in my in-box this morning and got pretty excited. I still haven't decided what my next purchase will be, but now there's another option for sure. Still leaning towards the SIG 556 Classic SWAT deal I found with LE pricing or the $200 rebate and a free light deal FNH has going on the Five-seveN.

In all fairness to Zanad, the way the OP did his post I thought this was spam too. Especially since the dealer name wasn't mentioned.

In contrast there's no doubt about what Yeti posted.

That's a pretty awesome deal actually. Spikes though has their M4 clone on sale for $720 with a coupon code("grant" or something like that) right now. Yeah it's a bit more but Spikes is generally considered to be higher quality than S&W, plus they supposedly have the best customer service in the industry. I think the same 16" rifles but with a mid length gas system(superior to the carbine system of the M4 clones) is only $10 more.

No problem, just thought I'd share. With people asking a lot of questions about bargain AR15's it seemed like a good thing. Does that mean all the previous bargain AR's will go to $499 or less ?? I guess we'll see

I thought I gotten a good deal building my own yesterday for $680 until I saw that ad. Wow! I paid $1,100 for the same model SW in May 2009 at the height of the AR craze. :banghead:

Yesterday, I saw a bunch of M&P 15s for $799 before the rebate, so the price drops are also filtering to the gun shows finally. Stags were about $859 with iron sights. RRAs were more expensive than the DPMS, Bushy, and Stag offerings; between $900 and $1k

My local dealer just put a super nice RRA on the shelf. If my FAVORITE A4 configuration.

It is RRAs "Standard A4" with:

20" SS 1:8 heavy barrel w/ A2 flash suppressor
Free float round aluminum handguard
Weaver style gas block

And of course it has an outstanding trigger break with their 2 stage NM trigger.

$899

wow. S&W isn't exactly my fav brand, but wow. what a deal

Yeah I don't know if CDNN got a special deal or if this is a case of S&W dropping prices all over. But if you want an SW AR, get one.

That's actually a pretty good deal, especially if it's chrome-lined.

Yes they are chrome lined. I have a M&P 15T, its a quality rifle, very accurate and flawlessly runs any old ammo, steel cased, old surplus, the lot. This is a great deal from CDNN.

Just talked to a guy at CDNN. They are in Abilene, TX, so sales tax applies to us Texans. There is also a 3% charge for credit/debit cards. You can send check or money order to waive that. Must be shipped to your FFL, so that is another $50 bucks for me. Finally a 17.99 s/h fee. It would be $849.16 for me BEFORE the $100 rebate. Still a good deal.

Good deal, but...

The $599 model is a fine deal, but you need sights to shoot the piece unless you use a scope (I don't). I just like the whole carry handle/open sight idea. Plan on spending at least another $50-$100 just to get started.

I've bought guns from CDNN in the past. Solid outfit.

i like flat tops. nothing to get in the way. then i just put a good set of Yankee Hill flip up iron sights and I'm good to go. They are about $150 if you hit up the gun shows regularly.

My S&W 5.45 M&P now serves flawlessly, though it had some teething problems. When I first shot it, it would give me patterns, not groups. It would not hold less than a 24 MOA group. Embarrassed with my shooting, I inspected the rifle for loose components to blame, and found the barrel rattled within the upper receiver. The barrel nut had been almost finger tight, instead of torqued on. I know S&W would have happily taken care of it for me free of charge. I've used their warranty service several times and been completely satisfied with their service of guns that wore out at some point or another under moderate or heavy use. However I opted to take care of it with my own tools when I got home, rather than ship it back and wait for a week or two to get my rifle for a job that took me 5 minutes. It now shoots 3 MOA with milsurp 5.45x39mm. It just should have come that way from the factory, had I not already been in possession of the right tools I'd have had to waste a lot more time. I hope they've tightened up their quality control.

Right now I'm kind of angry that I didn't wait to buy my first AR. It's a very good deal, but I dont know if it is the best deal going on now. I only say that because I do not know the specs of the bolt carrier.

If the bolt carrier group has three or more of teh following features: Magnetic-particle tested bolt, Shot-peened, m16 bolt carrier, properly staked gas-key, then that is the best deal going on.

Other than the re-sale value of the S&W name, i think the Spikes deal is the better value. I just slapped one together, 16" flat-top,mid-length with a Daniel Defense fixed rear sight for about $850,total.
That being said, I traded a guitar and amp for a Smith AR several months back ( I think I may have even tried to sell it here) and it was a very nice rifle. I quite likely would have jumped on this deal from CDNN had I not found the Spikes deal from AIM.

Spike's is a better deal than the SW right now. Same price with a couple minor upgrades (the 1:7 twist, MP barrel, and 4150 steel are qualities it has over SW, if I recall correctly)

But BCM is still the best for the money.
