Is your BLACK POWDER measuring device accurate?

I agree TheRodDoc with your findings my thoughts were in line to what a person is using the measure for IE Goex FFFG, Pyrodex, Swiss FF or what not, it'd only take a moment to weigh a few times with a new can of powder to verify that the weight to volume is the same or close enough instead of going through the water process more than once, but again I see your point on verifying the measure first.

I know with ROA's alot of guys will mill the cylinder bottoms so that they are flat and will accept more powder. Thats why I'll hear someone state a load that others can't fit in theirs, and you come away thinking it must be a mistake when actually it's true.
I know with my ROA I like shooting max loads with a round ball I cast and a homemade wad I make. So i've adjusted the spout of my flask to dump a charge that with a wad on top and a .457 round ball will be slightly compressed. I don't know what the volume is EXACTLY somewhere around 30-35 grains of Goex 3f.I'll get back to you on that.
I do know that if you had 10 people using those see through adjustable powder measures and told them all to adjust to throw 50 grains, you'd probably have 10 different weights if you weighed them all. But I would bet they would all be pretty close, maybe 5% of each other.
I've used spoons homemade and store bought, see through measures etc. They are all good. As long as I adjust to come up with an accurate load they are repeatable for me!
