@ jimmy ray, you said suppressors "make it easier to get away with poaching". i have suppressors and i disagree. i have a 5.56 supressor and to get it "hollywood" quiet you have to get subsonic. that makes a 55grain BB. it tumbles, floats and would probably not even kill a deer 7 times of 10. with a normal load your round will still give the supersonic crack, secrets out. they may not know where you are because of the supressor, but its easy to find you dragging the carcass out.I said it made it easier to get away with (undetected) not that poaching would increase because of it. Not just at night but also on posted land where permission to hunt has been denied.
i agree with others, if you are going to poach a bow is much more convienent.
the arguement for hunting with a supressor needs to be 1-for hearing conservation. i know i dont hunt with plugs in my ears. i need to hear the slightest noise bambi makes, shes not always loud.
