I am having ejection problems with my Ishapore 2A. The round just seems to drop into the magazine well rather than being flung out as should be. I understand that the ejection has something to do with the magazine lip, and pliers should fix the problem. Does anyone know what area o the magazine needs to be adjusted so as to correct the problem? I dont want to haphardly start making changes to the magazine only to wreck it.

Sorry the 2a has no ejector only exractor, WORK that bolt as intended and the case will "jar" outa there. The 303 version had the ejector however the size difference in the casings precludes one in the 2a. If you get the chance compare the two side by side

On the 303, the extractor claw on the bolt head engages the rim of the cartridge and withdraws the spent casing. The spring-loaded extractor then ejects the case once it is clear of the breach. Stubborn cases will be pushed clear of the receiver when the case rim hits the ejector screw.

I don't think the .308's have the ejector screw, 303 is rimmed and .308 isn't so I don't think it will work.

Check the extractor spring (should be a strong spring) on the front of the bolt and don't fiddle with the magazine!

robert garner is probably right...work the bolt like you were in combat. :D

As said

The extractor spring is the most likely problem. Not difficult to replace. You can get them a number of places... like Springfield Sporters for instance.

The extractor seems to be under good tension, doesn't seem loose at all. I tried manipulating the bolt as mentioned, but the casing just seems to pop up ever so slightly and then just land right in the mag well. I have read other posts, and everone says its the magazine lip, Here everyone is under the consensus that it is not. I'm at a loss on this one.

What do you consider "good tension"? You should have a hard to nearly impossible time moving the extractor under finger pressure.

My 2A has the same problem. I hear its common on those rifles. Dunno if its true, just something I read on the internet.

IIRC, the "ejector" is a small screw on the left side of the receiver. Tough to adjust. If screwed in too far, it'll drag the bolt. If its worn at all, it won't catch the brass. Cheap to replace. Numrich's probably has it.

I need to replace mine one of these days.
