I don't know if this is the right forum, but I didn't see a more appropriate one...

I am looking for a wrist watch. My 7 year old Casio Solar is dying. Here are my criteria, any input would be appreciated:
  • Simple
  • New
  • NO batteries.
  • Waterproof to 50m
  • Rugged - can take a beating
  • lightweight & not too large
  • Tells time & date (no other special functions needed)
  • inexpensive (under $100)
In my search, I've come across mostly mechanical watches (which is fine) but they all use batteries. The closest thing I found was a German military wind up watch - which I loved - but it was too $$.

These "self winding" and "movement charging" watches are too complex and expensive. I just want a reliable 1960's model, but brand new!

Any thoughts on where to find such a thing?

I can't comment on the ISO requirement, but I've bought a few newly manufactured Russian Vostok Amphibias (not Vostok Europe) for family and myself. They are an old school Russian diver's watch less than $100 shipped from Russia (on eBay), mechanical self winding, screw on back, screw down crown, many have the date function, claimed for 200 meters, thick plastic lens takes a beating and can have any scratches polished out, etc.

A really neat old school watch for those on a tight watch budget that don't want a battery, solar, or kinetic watch. I recommend one with a nylon or rubber strap as the factory metal straps are hair pullers.

This one has a few scratches from wearing almost daily for the last 12 months.
