ISRA 5/11/04: Resolution to Ban Your Guns Moves Forward

YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED - STOP DALEY FROM RAIDING YOUR GUN CABINET

Gun grabbers in the Illinois House today moved a resolution that would result in most of your guns being banned and confiscated.

HR 656, sponsored by rabid antigunner Rep. Julie Hamos (D-Evanston, directs the U.S. Congress to "extend and strengthen" the so-called "assault weapons" ban.

If Hamos and her friends get their way, then the list of banned guns would grow considerably to include a BAN ON ANY GUN MODEL, OR STYLE EVER PURCHASED BY ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

That would mean:

* All Colt revolvers would be banned and confiscated.

* All S&W revolvers would be banned and confiscated.

* All Ruger revolvers would be banned and confiscated.

* All Colt 1911 style pistols would be banned and confiscated.

* All Glock, S&W, Sig, H&K pistols would be banned and confiscated.

* All Trapdoor Springfields, Krags, M1903 Springfields, M1 Garands would be banned and confiscated.

1. Call the following Representatives Wednesday and Thursday of this week and POLITELY inform them that you are opposed to HR 656 and POLITELY request that they VOTE AGAINST HR 656 if it comes up for a vote before their committee.

I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying. Are you saying that the Illinois legislature is directing the U.S. Congress to extend and expand the AWB? I guess, like all the rest of us, they have the right to petition Congress, but I doubt Congress is going to take this up just on their say-so.

I hear ya Fritz, but I just don't see how you came to those conclusions based on the language contained therein. Military-style assault weapons and Large-cap magazines... yeah, that I see. Poorly written, as are most bill's language when not crafted by knowing legislaters or their lobbyists... are you thinking that she knows and intends for this language to be ex posto facto up to and including blackpowder arms?
Might be nice if some definition of Military-style assault weapons could be included in the language... but that might be counter productive to nefarious civil disarming ends, eh?

i sincerely believe that the 2nd Amendment case that finally makes it to the Supreme Court (ha! not for a while though) will be from Illinois, or perhaps Washington D.C. if the pra 2A Congresscritters cant overcome the DC gun ban
