I bought this loading stand some time ago, intending to use it with my two .44 BP revolvers..
The model is the ML948. However, when I came to use it I discovered it wouldn't work with my BP Cattleman nor the New Model Army.
As you can see from the pictures:
There is some kind of plastic pimple about 1/2" in diameter instead of the expected brass locating pin for the cylinder.
The press runs out of travel before it would seat the balls.
Even if there were plenty of travel to spare, the six pressure points will not enter the chambers as they are incorrectly spaced and jam against the face of the cylinder.
My guess is that it's designed for another model and been put in the wrong packaging at the factory.
Does anyone recognize the design and know the actual revolver it's intended for?
