Desperate for a press release!

I track the Brady campiagn's press program and the last 3 or 4 months, they have laid off all but 2 of their PR department team.

Their last few releases have been "Statements by the new president ..." type of releases. In the PR business that always means you have no real news to share.

Right now they are flailing about looking for any politician that ever said anything about gun control and trying to ride his or her coat tails and claim a part of their success. At the same time they will ignore the gains in the area of concealed carry as an anomaly.

They are barely clinging to relevancy, hoping for a Democrat return to power and the "good old days" of the '90's with a congress that has Pelosi and Feinstein in positions of power as committee chairpersons and an executive branch willing to put out some gun grabbing executive orders that will raise a fuss in court as they are slowly adjudicated.

Throw in a new Attorney General that reverses the current legal POV that the second is an individual right and it gets ugly real fast.

Don't bet on it. The Sheeple may well put the Democrat/liberal/socialists back in power this November and hand them the White House in 2008.

These two nightmares could never come to pass without the twin helping hands of -

1: The relentless brainwashing of The Sheeple by academia, the media and

What-ever. The sheeple argument is so lame. Both sides accuse each other of being sheeple. According to the lefties we are all sheeple of the NRA. Ditto with the media. The right is manipulated by the talk radio and the left is manipulated by tv. Yadda yadda yadda.

The demise of the Republicans solely rest on the Republicans. The Dems don’t have to do anything, all they need to do is sit back and watch GWB self destruct and take out a number of Republicans that supported him. The rubber stamp Republicans will be swept out everywhere except in the south. IMHO Americans tolerate a difference of opinion/policy much more than they tolerate incompetence, nepotism, and cronyism. How incompetent do you have to be to make the Democrats look competent?

It seems to me that the real story here is how close several of those incumbent gun grabbers came to losing their seats in states that aren't known for their love of pro-RKBA policies. Lincoln Chaffee had every major league Republican in Washington campaigning for him and the Republicans effectively abandoned Steve Laffey and he still came within 6% of winning the primary.

Celebrating squeakers in areas where you traditionally dominated probably indicates a shift of power; but I don't think it means what they think it means.

Yeah the fact that the GOP establishment had to pull out all the stops to defeat Laffey is telling.

Plus I heard Laffey ran no attack ads.

Giannetti losing says a lot more about the state of politics in America in general, and not so much about gun rights vs. the Brady idiots.

Basically the Bradys were able to use tons of money to achieve their stated principle objective. You can run a completely negative campaign and still win if you spend more. Like it or not, negative campaigns seem to work.

The thing is, by making the Bradys have to play defense here in MD, they're less able to come after you in Idaho or Alabama or Alaska or New Mexico or North Carolina. We Marylanders are sacrificial lambs, in some very real sense .

Neither the Democlicans NOR the Republicrats want the gun control issue to go away. Why, you ask? Because it translates into campaign donationsand votes, i.e. money, whether that money or vote comes from the anti-gunners or gun proponents. The greatest fear of all politicians is that they could lose their seat (and their license to steal from the taxpayer) to someone else; rights, laws, etc. are slave to that fear. The good of the country and it's citizens be damned!

I reckon that gun control AS AN ELECTION ISSUE will come to an end about the time America gets it's first dictator.

The mainstream media is the source of most of your information. Question everything you think you know about the political races. Then ask yourself: Do I want to encourage legislation that will harm me by voting against someone who the left has gone to great lengths to demonize?

I think that you can also insert "NRA" in place of the two parties. I am beginning to see the truth about the NRA and states like MD, NJ and CA. They don't want us to win because they use our troubles here to leverage members for donations in the other states.
