It is nice, but it does look a little odd.

My new voter registration card came in the mail this weekend. After nearly 16 years of being registered as a Democrat (albeit a pretty conservative Dem for the past several years) my registration card now says "Republican". I must admit, after all that time as a Dem, it looks a bit weird. Even though I filled out the registration card on elections day (March) and I decided on this some time before that, it still seems strange after all this time to be a Republican now. Yet, at the same time, it only makes official what was essentially a fact for the last 2 years or so.

Anyway, I know it isn't gun related, but I wanted to let everyone know.

Cool, thanks for the welcome. Just one thing, according to the tin foil hat types I already belong to one conspiracy to control the world (I am Jewish) but somehow I've never been invited to any of the meetings where we conspire to control everything. I'd hate to be part of two conspiracies without being invited, so would you do me a favor and teach me the secret handshake.

Last winter, after being a registered Independent since age 18, I switched to Republican.

So that's at least 2 new Republicans in MD!

Yeah, I agree. Even though I often voted Republican, I tried to give the Dems a chance (I was a lifelong Dem). Well, the way they have been treating conservative and moderate Dems the past few years nearly cinched it, and the two moderate Dems (at least in public perceptions) getting so trounced would have been the final straw had not an earlier thing done it (though if Lieberman or Edwards won, I might have considered reconsidering). Instead we got the worst case scenario- Kerry the traitor.

I think the password is "money", but they may have changed it since I threw the last dozen or so of their mailings into the garbage.

When anybody (usually a candidate out pressing the flesh) asks me if I'm a Republican I usually tell them I'm close but not quite. Then if they ask for more details I tell them that more Republicans seem to be reasonable than are Democrats, but I only donate to RKBA candidates.



I think the Jewish conspiracy theory has something to do with the fact that people gossip if they know a Jew (or a Black man or other minority member) who owns a bank or a factory. They just sort ignore all the white Protestants who do the same.
