I see threads merging

Two U.S. law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the weapons seized in Italy were being shipped to a Century International Arms Inc. facility in Georgia, Vt. The company's Internet site bills Century as "North America's largest importer/exporter of surplus firearms and accessories."

An official at the company, which is based on Boca Raton, Fla., refused to comment Wednesday.

So the :cuss: Italians sieze legal surplus guns and claim that they are :fire: illegal somehow, and after all the dust settles, they are Semi-Auto surplus AKs on their way to a legitimate business here. :cuss: 'em.

I suspect Century was trying to gain some market share by having a big stash on hand for as soon as the AWB dies a screaming death.

Legal or illegal, I don't know. But I suspect legal actions to be flying. 8,000 rifles is a lot for a small company. They are probably hurting right now.

Per the BATFE - the arms are completely legal. The UK Guardian quotes an agency official to that effect. I don't have the knowhow to make the link, but the article can be found at firearmnews.com.
