Picked up an old ithaca 37 a few weeks back and have been playing with the idea of turning it into a trench gun. I've been having some difficulty finding a heat shield/bayonet lug for it. I'm not much of a shotgun guy but I figured, as popular as retro trench gun builds are (or, at least, used to be), finding a bayonet lug would be easy. That's not been the case...

Anyone know where to find one?

I gave Panzer Arms an email the other day. They sell their PA37. I asked if they'd let me buy the heat shield. They don't have a bayonet lug but, if it's of decent quality, it might be worth the purchase as a place-saver. If nothing else, it might look good on my old sears and roebuck 12 ga riot gun.

Well... this is on the 820B (mostly because I didn't want to mess up the ithaca just yet). The PA37 shield attaches to the block on the barrel so I had to turn down some mounting hardware and an aluminum shim spacer but it's an alright space saver till I get or make the real thing! Don't know if I want to blue it or powder coat. Not SUPER fond of the in-the-white look on it. 1000001965.jpg
