A friend of mine just got an ithaca perazzi acciaio when his grandfather passed away.

I have heard of ithaca and perazzi but didnt know they were related. Can anyone help fill in the story on this and maybe a value range? I am surprised by the lack of information available on google et. al. which makes me wonder if it is rare. I know value depends on condition and you will ask for pics, etc. Hes just looking for a little info on the gun and a range that says "with a few blemishes, it would ball park at xxx-yyy range

Ithaca imported both Perazzi and SKB for a time. The guns aren't worth nearly as much as curent production Perazzi's, but they are still nice guns.

Acciaio means "steel" in Italian, it's not the model number, so I can't give you any more information without pictures and a model.

As I recall?

Ithaca was the first Perazzi importer in the U.S. in the early 70's.
Mr. Perazzi sent his son the Ithaca Gun Company in Ithaca, New York to train the employees how to service Perazzi shotguns.

In the late 70's, Perazzi USA, Inc. was formed in Rome, New York and no longer depended on Ithaca as an importer or service center.

thanks for the head's up on Ithaca as an importer. I will tell him it is probably a "few hundred" dollar gun so he does not confuse it with the "few thousand" dollar guns Perazzi sells today.

Agree, that gun is worth a lot more than a few hundred, but if he wants to sell it for a few hundred, I claim dibs!

Perazzi sent Giacomo to NY, an employee, not a son. After a few years, Perazzi started Perazzi USA in upstate NY. When the decision to move to CA was made, Giacomo stayed in NY.
he is still THE best for anything Perazzi from repairs to new guns
