ok, i have a ithaca model 49 lever action single shot 22 rifle. i have taken all the pins out except the pivot pin for the falling block wich wont come out. i have read some old posts on hear about this subject but no gave a detailed answer on how to get this pin out. they posted picture of the disassembled gun but that didnt help much since it didnt show me how to disassemble it myself.
does any one know how to get this pin out?:)

There is a plunger & spring that operates on the lever.
At the other end of the spring is a pin that fits into the breech-block pin it keep it in place.

If you remove the lever, plunger, spring, and retainer pin from the bottom of the breech-block cam, the big breech-block pin should fall out.

thanx, i took the lever off and the sring and plunger just fell out though i still cant seem to remove this pin, i also am having trouble removing the fore stock.
any idea how i get that off? :)

Take a look up in the receiver, but I don't recall anything else holding that pivot pin. Maybe it is just stuck with old oil or grease. As to the foreend, you just remove the band screw and slip the band forward, then the forend should come right off. Again, old oil or maybe something like linseed oil could be holding it.

I can assure you that there is a short retainer pin on top of the plunger & spring. It is probably stuck in place by dried oil.

I'd shoot some solvent or penetrating oil in the hole and let it soak. Then try tapping the big pin back and forth until the retainer pin loosens up enough to come out. At any rate, the short retainer pin has to come out of the plunger spring hole at least part way before the breech-block pin will come out.
