Here in Taiwan, only the police (and only patrol police at that) can carry.. Some of them aren't even issued a gun, so they just wear a holster.. (I know..I know)

So in the banks, a few of the banks actually hire real cops, but most hire rent-a-cop/mall ninja's..

So I was wondering how they are able to carry, when even the Brinks here aren't allowed..

I walk by close to one day, and I noticed... the gun is.... FAKE!!

The entire grip assembly is completely molded out of a single piece of plastic, there is no magazine well.

That answered my question... I'm just curious if the bank robbers know this..

By law, the real cops that carry real guns have to wear a badge at all times, the ones that don't.. are rent-a-cops.. I guess good info if you are a bank robber..

This could seriously backfire if someone tried to rob the bank in question. If I were in this positon, I'd be carrying a squirt gun filled with some type of flammable liquid. And of course, since I smoke, I always have a lighter as well as a backup...

Come to think of it, that could "backfire" as well, forget I mentioned it...

All in all, I have to say I like fake breasts way better than fake guns.

I'm a butt man myself, but when it comes to fake breasts vs fake guns, I'd have to agree.

it is all about perceptions. Sense of security, reality, self esteem, better health...all perceived differtly by folks.

Patients in the OR may have breast implants, cancer, accident victims, to "feel whole and complete" for example. Yes I have handled the implants before being implanted, once surgery finished, my perceptions not important. The patient, patient's family, husband, kids ,and the ability to heal mattered more.

[ ladies,please , please get and attach a padded add on pad for shoulder strap, these in an accident will cut and cause serious injuries to breasts, that blasted air bag can/will make it worse btw]

Many folks kept the alarm tape on storefront glass and doors even tho' the new security systems didn't require them. It gave the customers a better "perception of safety" seeing the tape. Fake cameras ,with or without, real ones to give safe feeling to shoppers and disuade shoplifters.

Many years ago we had a serious problem with convience stores being robbed and persons shot. Our "controversial" Sheriff put a stop to this Quick!

In the Convience Stores he had large "booth" if you will. All dark one way bullet resistant glass.

Sign read: "There may or not be an armed Officer with a loaded Shotgun aimed at you"!

Same idea when in the cooler area many doors were darkend and one way glass or tape applied.

A few BGs took a chance and died in the first few days. Robberies ceased real quick!

Now one never knew if an officer was in fact standing there with a shotgun, one never knew...nobody wanted to find out the hard way.

It's worse than that. If you put up a fake ADT sticker in your window and you are robbed, it wouldn't be any different than if you didn't have the sticker. On the other hand, if you are wearing a fake gun and a bank robber comes in and sees the "gun", he will shoot you first. Nothing you can do about it.

Its kind of like those radio/magnetic detectors at store exits that beep if you don't get your little metal strip scanned.. They could easily conceal them in the door frame or whatever, but they are visable as a deturrant(sp).
