I just moved back to civilization from NYC and I had not fired a firearm in 7 years before yesterday. Now I am restocking my gun cabinet as quickly as possible. I have been buying everything I get my hands on. In the last 5 days I have purchased a Kimber Raptor II, a Glock 17 and a Beretta 92FS M9 and I would have bought more if the State of Virginia didn't have this 31 day resident law preventing me from buying new guns until I have lived here for 31 days. Once I can legally buy some guns new from a shop I will really be doing some shopping.

Just wanted to say Hi from a new member who has really enjoyed reading the board this last week since I found it.

Congratulations on your escape from NYC. Seems like you enjoy the semi-automatic pistols.

Thanks, I am actually just beginning so while it appears I am biased towards semi-auto pistols my next purchase will probably be a snub nose revolver and a Stag AR-15 fully decked out.

Jakkar, welcome to THR. You've come to a good place.

I don't live in NYC - never have. I live in small city, OR.

But after a three hour bicycle ride downtown tonight,
in small city, OR, I'm no longer convinced that I live in "civilization".

Truly bizarre. :scrutiny:

Thanks everybody. I know about the 1 handgun every 30 days, but I am taking my CCW required class in a couple of weeks and once I have my license I can buy multiple handguns per month. I am basically just trying to replace the firearms I once had when I lived in Texas that I slowly sold off to deal with my outrageous living costs in NYC. The only firearms I have left in my collection at my house in Texas are a Ruger 22/45 and a Ruger 10/22. They are just too much fun to ever sell.

"I wish I had your gun-budget"

Impressive budget indeed. Just wondering how much of it came from working in New York :)
