I've fallen into the Sig trap and I can't get out.

I've been eyeballing the Sig line lately myself. Never had paid them much mind.

I was at a gun show where a local dealer I know had a table full of $350-400 police trade in 220's with multiple mags, night sights and in pretty good condition too. It was about a year ago and I knew it was a good deal despite not knowing much about them, but only had a trade no cash, and the particular shop only takes in guns at their shop so a deal couldn't be worked on the spot. By the time I was able to get to their shop a week later with cash, they had sold all thirty something.

Ever since I've looked into them and I think I'd really like either a 220 or a 227 of some sort.

as much I am not a big fan of SIG's and their clones ( just the looks of it is not to my taste - except P210), I know they are quality guns, and I shoot them extremely well when I get a chance to lay my hands on them .
congrats on the great purchase !

Nice! Pretty clean looking and looks to have night sights. Was happy to find a 229 Enhanced Elite posted on the local range bulletin board FS but other than that one, I haven't found any on my want list. Enjoy the new addition!

Thanks-- yes, they're tritium sights. The serial number puts the gun at 2005, which explains why the glow is at about half-full...

I know what you mean-- I could do without the rail and the put-your-finger-here front of the trigger guard, and it looks blocky overall to this dyed-in-the-wool 1911 fan. Fits the hand nicely, though, and having the slide stop right above the thumb is spiffy. Try a Sig 1911 sometime; they're mostly normal except for the external extractor, and shoot very well.

Wow, that would have been a good deal! Who knows, maybe there'll be a next time. I've surely kicked myself for passing up some trade-in deals like that-- J&G had police S&W 64s for $300 a few years ago, and did I buy one? No, because every time I predict the future, I'm wrong. I thought they'd drop the price.

I own a nine thirty eight, there is no trap. They are that good. I would love a nightmare for the night stand. I have a ninety two clone now, but one can never have too many options. Especially in fourty five.

After dealing with their warranty, I'm a sig believer! It did take quite awhile but aside from that they did right by me. I currently own a p220 equinox and it shoots extremely well. They are blockier than a 1911 which to me feels a little awkward to me, but that's just due to the fact that i'm used to the 1911 style.

Sure fell into that "trap" easy enough! I started with a Browning BDA (a.k.a. SIG P220), in .45 ACP many years ago. Sweet shooting semi-auto that could keep up with a Colt Gold Cup when it came to accuracy.

You should like the P-220. It (and the P-227) are my favorite non-1911 .45s. It seems to be a good time to find those police trade-in SIGs ...

I'm not much of a SIG fan, though ...

Dang! Nice collection! I have a couple of SIGs myself (P226 Legion SAO and P938) and I am jonesing for a P220 as well. They just released the P220 in a Legion, and it is tempting for sure.

My police trade-in P-220 (got it for around $400 a couple years back (with life in the night-sights). This pic from Photobucket, so let's see how long it hangs around ...

Typically accurate, and of course, 100% reliable ...

I recently picked up a P220 in 10mm and like it quite a bit. I'm already thinking about a P229 or 226 Legion in 357 Sig.

Nice score AZAndy!

I found an unfired P220 single-action-only at a pawnshop not too long ago, very reasonably priced too. I didn't even bother the shopkeep with the usual back-and-forth dickering on that one. It's even more fun to shoot than I'd imagined.

Yep, I did the same thing, became a Sig fan. I've wanted one every since Jefferson County PD in Kentucky went from revolvers to Sig 9mm's around 1989. But our dept. went to Smiths and then to Glocks and that's been my semi-auto of choice for years. But I just recently sold my Glock and bought the Sig P320 Carry and am a happy cowboy.

I have a P220 and P229. I had a P228 earlier this year that I sold to a friend that always wanted one and will replace it soon hopefully. I'm picking up a P227 next week and my wife has a Sig 1911 nightmare carry in .45 ACP and a little P238. I also have preordered the new P210 that Sig hopefully will come out with this year.

Awesome SIG collection! Had a Browning BDA .45, a P226, and a P228. Currently I have a P238 and a P229. Would like to get a P220 Nitron Carry or else an SAS Gen2 Carry.
