While I was out perusing my local gunstores today, I had a crazy idea. Now I'm on a mission.

Right now I have a Glock 17, 19 and 30 and have been looking for a Glock 21 or 20.

But, i've decided i'm going to pick up a Springfield Armory XD9 or XD45. I want to be able to compare the guns side by side with my Glock's and see which shoot better for me.

I've owned a HS2000, XD9 and XD40 in the past and was really suprised by there accuracy. But for some reason they were sold and I moved onto something else.

So I'm now searching for a good deal on an XD9 or XD45 so the testing can start.

The Glock 30 will continue to be my carry gun, as it fits a niched that no other gun companies fill(Para don't count), 10 rounds in a small compact gun.

I own the XD45, paid $499 for it, and I feel it was the best money I have ever spent, such a wonderful weapon. Have fun with yours, once you find your deal

I believe the XDs to be fantastic firearms, but my only question is.....If you have owned three in the past, why are you buying another one?

Re-read the post.....I think it will be a good test.

I've bought and sold a lot of guns, just because I wanted to try something different.

Right now I have decided that Glocks are that gun. But, having fondled some XD's lately, I've decided to buy one and compare it to my Glocks.

What I remember liking was: they were very accurate and felt good in the hand. What I dislike was: rear sight falling off of one, poor finish and the slide was too big for CCW.

So the finish is now better, the sight falling off was a fluke, and I've got my CCW gun.

My biggest gripe against it was the high bore axis, made the recoil seem to be as much as my 3" 1911. Other than that, just the looks. Like others have said it looked like it should have been made by Lego. It only malfunctioned twice while I owned it. I wasn't the one shooting it, and I believe the malf's were due to limp wristing. The XDs aren't bad guns from what I've seen, just not my cup of tea. My favorite of the plastic guns is the S&W MP, but so far the best handgun for me is the HiPower.

I'm on my second 9mm Tac. Bought one when they first came out, then sold it cause I had to have something else. Recently bought another one because I really did miss the XD. And, I've added a 45ACP Tac to keep it company. They are nice pistols, but very different from my 1911's. I am still having trouble getting used to the triggers. I think I'll end up getting a trigger job on one and see what that does for me.
