These Debates Over the Best Handgun Are Reaching a Point of Absurdity

Refuse the Branding

There are WAY too many great and beautiful weapons out there that I have NOT shot, held, or carried to play this game.

The current rage in WWW marketing is to post relatively anonymously as a "regular joe consumer" with a review of blasting sunshine up the said manufacturer's arse, and/or slamming a manufacturer for a fictional failure. :cuss:

That being said, anything Made In the USA is OK by me!!! :neener:

It really does come down to each individual's personal opinion. I own and shoot single-action revolvers, double-action revolvers, and autoloaders. I've owned one or more models of autoloader from all the major and most minor manufacturers. Most of them were reasonably accurate and reliable. My personal preference for a carry gun is a 1911 in .45 ACP but that doesn't make it the "best" for anyone except me.

Never criticize another man's dog, because you're not paying for the feed.

Okay.... so lately I've seen (and commented on several posts) about one gun or another and it's superiority.

It's been so iritating to me,
Of course, the reason being that no one has familiarity with all handguns & various models. We all tout what we have...I've tooted the Daewoo handguns for years, but only get a yawn for responses.
Why? Very few have some knowledge of Korean arms...For me, anything you own that works is the best handgun...:)

That being said, to me it's silly to have a head to head fight about the upper-end of handguns. They are all good. And the difference between them is so slight (in terms of overall quality), that it's virtually irrelevant

I agree, any of the upper end handguns are good, and its entirely down to preference for the most part.

Go to a gun store and try them out, see if you can rent them.

Well now.... I wasn't trying to say Glock or HK is the best. I was trying to say they are the best FOR ME.

If someone else swears by Sig, or S&W, or Beretta, or 1911.... Good for them. I am happy they found a gun that works for them. What I am saying is this: Dissing a platform which is reliable, and combat accurate is silly.

I'm all for comparisons. I'm all for people explaining why they like a platform over another platform.

But saying pistol "x" sucks when it is a reliable, and combat accurate weapon is silly. Instead of saying (this is an example only) "Sigs sucks" say "I don't like Sigs 'because'."

I don't think there a such thing as the best pistol. I would not trade my beretta 92 for anything. I had carried a beretta for a long time that was issued. When they took them away and issued us sigs i went out and got my own beretta. Have a buddy that feel the same about his glock. The shooter need to like what he have and if it works for him then it is the best for him but not so for everyone eles. Hey I even know someone who have a kel tec p11 and he think that the best pistol ever made. But I do like these type of questions since it allow exchange of ideals

be safe
