Hello, I have never shot a glock w/ a good trigger job. Regardless if it's a 3.5 lbs or 5 lbs trigger job, my question is: does it really feel like a crisp, SA-like pull, much like that of a tuned 1911 as most of the companies claim it would feel??

Also, anybody shoot a XD/XDM with a good trigger job that they can tell me about it too?

I leave all of my Glock triggers "stock", they work fine for me.
I've owned an XD and an XDm, IMO the Glock triggers are better.

A smoothed up 3.5lb Glock trigger is pretty light and smooth (lighter than I would want on a carry gun), but it is not a single action trigger; therefore it will never feel like one. It just feels like a lighter Glock trigger.

Exactly which companies make this claim?

I'm serious....please give us a link to any company making this claim.

Or are you just trolling?

Ghost inc. 3.5 Ultimate kit, just installed, smooth as a babies bottom. Positive reset, crisp break, 4lb pull, what's not to love? Feels like a completely different trigger and I do mean for the better, my groups have shrank and rapid fire and double tap exercise have been much more controllable and faster.

Easyg, Really? Many...

Like what Glocked n loaded said, Ghost inc. does. JP Enterprises trigger kits claim their triggers feel like SA pull. Custom-Glock racing claim that their USPSA, IPSC trigger jobs feel like a clean crisp SA pull.

And there's many more that claim SA pulls close to that of a 1911. I just don't have time to go and list all of them.

Matter of fact, i'm probably not even aware of all the companies out there. The world of Glock trigger jobs/kits is enormous.

There's also Power driver precisions, Springer Precision (xd/xdm specialist) also works on glocks, and many many more. However, the latter 2 don't quite claim the SA feel like the first aforementioned.

I have shot Glock 19's with the 3.5 lb connector and .25 cent polish job. As said above it was a very sweet trigger but it was not like a nice 1911.

I will definitely do it to a G19 I pick up but for now I only have a G26. It has the polish job done but I kept the original connector because it's a carry gun.

So far, i think NY32182 best answered my question.

To me, as long as the take-up is reduced dramatically to where it's in between a typical DAO pull and a SA pull, and has a extremely clean break to fire, followed by no over-travel, concluded by a shorter reset, then I'm happy :D.

Granted, saying "like a tuned 1911" may be going a bit far, but as long as it's close. My question still stands though:

Can anyone with trigger time on a trigger modded GLock, XD, or XDM please share their experience??

I do plan on shooting at my local USPSA/IPSC competitions.

I'm sure not everyone will share these opinions, but here they are.

A good Glock trigger is still a Glock trigger.
--therefore--
If you don't want a Glock trigger don't buy a Glock.

There are lots of guns on the market today. A tremendous variety. Different brands, different sizes, different actions, different calibers, different everything.

Buy a good quality gun that is what you want it to be already--or at least one that's very close to what you want it to be. That is the path to happiness.

Buying something that's not what you want is only a good idea if you just like fiddling with things or you have so much money that you can't figure out how to spend it all.

If you want a SA like trigger pull, I would get:
1:Ghost Tactical connector *OR*
2:a Glock 8lb connector, wolff 6 lb trigger spring and a LWD trigger stop

Option 2 I would guess has the most "crisp" break, but im very happy with my Tactical connector. (the Rocket was mush)

A well tuned Glock trigger still feels bad, but works excellent, better than my 1911's when under stress. Easy to rapid fire and to not ND.

But if your just slow shooting or dry fire practice, no, it's never going to feel good.

I was just compairing my Glock trigger to my 1911,s last night.
Even though the ghost and spring changes made my 17 very nice and a lighter
pull than my 1911,s it will nver be a tunned 1911 trigger different animal alltogether. And that was with my glock set so light I had to change some of the springs back for safety reasons.

If you want to get as close to the 1911 trigger as possible in a Glock, the Glockworx/Zevtech Fulcrum trigger kit is probably the best out right now, aside from sending your gun to a smith. From there you can add different connectors and springs to get the trigger to where you want. The trigger is also adjustable for pre-travel and over travel.

I personally like a standard connector (aka - 5.5#) with a detailed polish job. It gives a super smooth pre-travel leading to a crisp break, almost no mush. It isn't as light as the 3.5#, but it is slightly lighter than the 5.5#.

Ughh,

Anytime you have trigger components in one place, in this case the frame, and the ignition parts in another place, the slide, it's more difficult to get a good trigger.

The Glock action virtually mandates some pre-travel before releasing the disconnector since the last several thousanths of trigger movement fully "cocks" the striker.

I agree with the other posters; a tuned Glock trigger still feels like a Glock, just lighter, which isn't a bad thing, just not 1911 like.

My trusty 1st Gen G17 has the 3.5 disconnector and 25 cent trigger job; I like it.

I had my Glock 22 worked fully by a fella here in Houston by the name of T.R. Graham AKA the Glocksmith. He turned my stock Glock into the smoothest polymer shooter I own. 3.5 trigger/connector, match grade slide lock, full polish, steel guide rod. The reset on the gun dramatically changed and my 25 yard groups shrank. Shooting the gun now is so easy its almost boring.

I have three go to SHTF pistols and this one is one of 'em after a Glocksmith full mod. He is a local guy here but you can attempt to contact him for a mail-in

My G34 has the Ghost Rocket trigger in it. It is lighter and has much less over-travel than the stocker. The break and the reset (best part of the Safe-Action Trigger) are still nice and crisp.

My G34 shoots every bit as accurately as my Colt Combat Elite with it's Wilson trigger and tuned springs.

It will never "feel" as nice as a 1911 trigger. But it will perform as well as a 1911 trigger.

If you want to get as close to the 1911 trigger as possible in a Glock, the Glockworx/Zevtech Fulcrum trigger kit is probably the best out right now, aside from sending your gun to a smith.

Sapper, thank you for that. I've never heard of glockworx/zevtech Fulcrum. I'll look into it.

Hmmf... in light of what you all said so far (thank you btw) it makes me wish that somebody would modernize John Browning's 1911. Capacity is somewhat of an issue to me when it comes to the 1911. Not to mention the slide stop/release could be relocated.

I wish Glock would just throw a manual safety on their pistols, and turn it into a SAO for enthusiasts out there.

"never feel like a 1911"... *sigh* :(

Does a Hi-Power trigger feel like a 1911 trigger? Never had trigger time on a hi-power....

If you want a 1911 trigger, get a 1911. The Glock trigger is not meant to feel super clean slow firing on a static range. It is meant to be the best trigger for carry in stock form, and run fast in dynamic situations, which does very well, really with or without a lightening "clean up".

i shot a xdm 9mm recently, i'm seriously thinking about trading my glock 26 in on it. the trigger was much smoother to me. imho it felt better than the glock and the original xd. it was a stock xdm so i can't say to how it feels against a 3.5 kit'd glock. i shot a friends glock 17 that has all the bells and whistles lonewolf has to offer. the trigger felt lighter and smoother but still felt like a glock trigger
