I'm new to concealed carry and would feel a lot safer with a holster that completely covers the trigger guard of my Glock 26. However, I am finding most holsters leave some of the trigger guard exposed. Is there anything out there that completely covers the trigger guard? I'll likely carry both ankle and IWB.

All of the holsters I have for a G27 cover the trigger guard - Crossbreed, Theis, Galco, King Tuk. I believe most quality holsters would. Which ones have you tried that don't?

A tiny bit of the back of the trigger guard, behind the trigger, being exposed shouldn't be a big deal.

That said, my holsters all seem to completely cover it.

I currently carry my G26 in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II. You could probably fit a thin and short knife blade or toothpick or something into the back of the trigger guard, but that doesn't matter.

*Note: The spare mag is backwards for this pic. Drives me nuts...I need to set the stuff out and take another pic. Should be facing the other way*

docnyt: I haven't tried any out just yet, just trying to narrow down the choices.

I guess a little of the back of the trigger guard being exposed is ok since its unlikely something will get in it and make a 90 degree turn around the trigger.

It would have to get in the back of the trigger guard, turn 90 degrees, go forward, turn another 90 degrees, end up over the trigger/trigger safety, and then exert several pounds of rearward pressure for the entire length of the trigger pull.

I am not aware of this -ever- happening or being reported as happening.

My Crossbreed Supertuck has worked great with my 27 this year. No issues. No accidental discharges.
Glocks really are a safe pistol. Just keep a high trigger finger.

For the Glock 26, if the entire trigger bow was covered by the holster, you'd have a more difficult time getting a full grip while unholstering. Your middle finger would be hitting against the holster.

As long as the entire trigger is covered (not necessarily the entire trigger bow) you'll be fine.

With all that said, I have to admit I don't like kydex (or even very detail-boned leather) holsters that are molded deeply into the trigger guard; I've seen some that looked as if they could actually snag a trigger on insertion.

If a kydex holster is going to 'click' into the trigger guard, I prefer it to do so only at the very frontmost portion of the guard, and remain well away from the trigger.

I make these for $40. All my holsters are custom made by hand and I can even leave extra material around that area if it makes you more comfortable.
