folks, for appendix carry IWB without a belt, what holster do you use?

in particular for the Kahr PM9.

pix showing you wearing it are always appreciated.

that CB rig looks like it would put the clip right on your pants button.... seems like a lot of holster for this location as well.

anyone tried the CB appendix IWB and have pix of them wearing it?

They are not best or most comfortable for me but I occasionally appendix carry a j frame in a belly band. They are fairly cheap, so they are easy to try.

no sticky fly paper remora type rigs. I want something with a strong spring clip that I know will keep the rig in place when the gun is drawn.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how do you keep up your pants, plus the weight of a gun, without a belt?

Generally we say that the most important thing to successful and safe carrying is a good belt.

The second most important thing is a good holster.

So, I imagine our responses are going to be a little disheartening.

it must be my build. I don't have a gut pushing my pants down. I can wear blue jeans without a belt just fine, and a cheapy UM iwb holster worn appendix for a J frame doesn't weight them down.

I guess im looking for the spring clip instead of the hook kind that need a belt to hold them in place.

Jerry, I'm 58 and have a similar build maybe....6' 3" 175 lbs. No gut and still wear 32"X34" jeans. I have a huge natural pocket/hiding place at 1 oclock for appendix carry and do carry that way...G26 and Beretta Px4.

Wear a belt. If you are gonna carry appendix you'll have to make some changes and wearing a belt ( a good thick leather 1 1/2" wide gunbelt) will give you so many options for carry you'll not miss "going commando"...:D

I have, and yes it can be tough to get your pants buttoned! Which, is the main reason I retired it.

Not practical or probable unless suspenders are an option !!

Maybe something like smart carry is an option for you.

Agreed, I carry appendix strong side (left) 100% of the time, unless it's under my leg for long road trips.

I have one of these on the way, for the same reasons... (No belt, sweat pants, gym shorts, pjs, etc.)

ok fellas, wearing a belt all the time then is my decision.

BTW, my jeans have a doubled seem at the bottom of the waist where a belt would ride if that makes sense. it is a material lip that a spring clip could easy secure itself, I don't think it would work with the backwards C clip or J clip that depends on a belt to fasten itself.

High Noon's clip IWBs have one of the best clips in the business. Example: http://highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/Bare_Necessity_Clip/bare_necessity_clip.html (They all use the same clip.) They are made of a spring steel that actually takes some effort to spread open and there is a reverse curvature on the bottom that will help it "bite" into your clothing. They work even better hooked under a belt. ;)

I have a an idea, if some guy want to wear a handgun with out a belt sooner or later they will figure out why people say use a belt.

IVe done it for years with a 3953 and a bianchi md100. if your pants fit you and you don't have a gut pushing them down this is quite do'able.

the bianchi 100 seems a bit much for the comparatively miniscule pm9, that's why I asked for holster types suggestions.

that said, I usually do wear a belt and prefer that option, however I don't always wear a belt around the house or other very local orbits.

did you have any holster ideas like I asked or is this an intention thread drift?

TLH, thanks for that info.... I think the highnoon line up is what im looking for.

For the PM/CM9 I use one by Kusiakleather.com in the appendix position, seems like the minimal bulk at the muzzle and the hight makes it super comfortable.

Well...I'd advise using a belt but carry around the house and at the farm quite a lot without one. It *can* be done and done well. You might be surprised at what gets carried in one's waist band. :)

For out and about, riding in a car, and generally being in public a belt and good holster is a great idea and less bad stuff can likely. But Some of us can and do carry guns and stuff in our waistbands and pockets.

My G26 disappears when shoved in my waistband but carrying it without something covering the trigger (especially since it's pointed at my femoral artery) is just crazy. I recommend a belt and good holster.
