I don't wear belts very often. Any recommendations on a good IWB holster that firmly clamps on to the pants for a Glock 26?

Thanks.

Hi don hume holsters and high noon holsters both make IWB holsters that use a spring steel clip for the Glock 26.

Give them a look they are really nice for an inexpensive holster. I've used both with and without a belt and they work really well.

I saw the Don Hume 715 while looking around online at holsters and it looked aesthetically pleasing, not too big, and like a real bargain. I guess I'm just wondering now before I place an order is if the clip is firm enough when attaching it to your waistband without a belt.

Any clip made of spring steel will grab pant fabric by friction or clamping force, but this may not be sufficient to retain it when you draw the gun and is also not very stable, which is why I normally discourage carry without a belt. A better idea would be some kind of "alligator clip" that actually "bites" into the fabric, but the only one I know of used with holsters was the Alessi "Talon Clip." Unfortunately he has passed away and I don't know if anyone else is making or using them.

I like Uncle Mike's inside the pant holsters. They stay in better if worn with a belt but can be worn without.

Smartcarry or bellyband. Move it around to where you want it and where it is most comfortable.

Alessi holster company is open and producing holsters. They still make the Talon as well.

Most comfortable IWB holster I have ever encountered, met the owner at a gun show last week. The holster prevents any contact between the gun and your skin, and is made of neoprene padding sandwiched between leather and suede. The metal clip presses your waistband against elastic, increasing the friction to better retain the holster. Feels like sticking a pillow in your waistband.

How about the regular Alessi Talon?

BTW thanks for the info about Alessi. They look like very good quality holsters that can be used without a belt. A little more expensive than I'm looking to spend, but if their clip is much more secure without a belt than Don Hume or Bianchi, maybe I'll spend the extra money.

FIST #1A Ultra Thin Kydex. I use for both my 26 and 23. Excellent holster and great customer service. My favorite IWB holster....even over of Comp-Tac MTAC which is more expensive...yet still a very nice holster.

If you ok with spending a little bit of money check out http://www.theholstersite.com/?p=47 this guy does great work and some really unique designs. The red racer holster that is pictured on the first page was made for Caleb of GunNuts media, if you follow him. I have yet to find out who ordered the purple glitter holster.

If you're going to carry a gun, be serious about it. If you're not going to be serious about it, carry some pepper spray instead and call it good.

Sticking one in your waistband, holstered or not, without a belt isn't a smart way to go about it.

If one insists on doing so without a belt, then the above mentioned Smart Carry or Bellyband will work. Altho it's not an IWB, I'll mention the 5.11 holster shirt as it doesn't require a belt (or even pants! )

Carrying a gun ain't about convenience, it's about making a serious commitment to having a fighting chance should you face a sudden, unavoidable deadly encounter.

I think you're better off with the shield. I have holsters from Galco, Sparks, Kramer, Bianchi and Bruce Nelson. None of them have better fit and finish than the holsters I own from Alessi.

+1. The majority of my IWB holsters are FIST 1A. I have mine done as hybrids with the body protector option that keeps the slide from being in contact with your body. Hybrids are kydex on the inside and leather on the outside. Great stuff!
