I'm looking for a IWB holster for a full sized 1911 with really no price limit. My only concern is that I will most likely be recieving my CHL within the next 1-2 months and I would like to have the holster by then. I was looking into the Versa Maxx 2 and some other high quality holsters and have no problem paying the price it's just that the wait time is to long. I am willing to order the custom holster, but I will need a cheaper one to hold me over until I recieve my Versa Maxx 2. So any suggestions on a decent IWB holster for a Kimber Custom II would be greatly appreciated while I wait for my Versa Maxx 2. Thanks for your time.

If money is no issue, occasionally you can find a VMII on ebay. Its a bit faster than the long wait time. I also see holsters ready to wear at gun shows as well.

I've picked several used holsters off E-bay, auctionarms and gunbroker for about half the new price. The Sparks Summer Special is a great holster as is the Alessi Talon Plus.

If you need it now, Galco Royal Guard or Summer Comfort (despite its name I find the SC less comfortable), or Don Hume PCCH.

UBG has the quality without the long wait; my "Canute" took about five weeks.

Galco Royal Guard

I've had good luck with a Galco Royal Guard.....though I prefer my Alessi GWH. If you know anyone that can order from BROWNELLS for you, they usually stock Milt Sparks Summer Specials II's for 1911, at a reasonable price.

IMHO, choose a holster with the belt loops on either side of the weapon. That puts the minimum amount of material between the weapon and your pants. I like this one from UBG holsters.

One plug

for Tucker Gunleather. I use their Texas Heritage tuckable IWB for 1911 and Glock 22 carry with complete satisfaction and comfort year-round.

Walked into a local LE supply store, and picked up a Gould & Goodrich IWB for my Custom II last summer, no waiting, and very comfortable.

Milt Sparks VMII or Watch Six. It is worth the wait. In the mean time I would consider the Safariland Model 27 as a temporary solution. I prefer holsters that have two points of attachment that are offset from the gun.

Thanks for all of the replys so far. I'm seriously looking into the UBG because of the reasonable wait time and the pricing. I will look into it further and let you know my decision.

+1 VMII and you might as well plan on selling that one you getting for temp because after you slide on that Milt Sparks you won't wear anything else! ;)
