It appears there will be a 20 to 26 week wait for a Milt Sparks holster fitted to the Kimber Compact Stainless I have ordered. I will certainly at least experiment with toting the 4" gun in the IWB holster that carries the full sized 1911. Has anyone any experience with a such a combo? Assuming the full sized holster securely manages the compact pistol, am I risking damage to the holster?

I have at times . My Don Hume IWB 5" holster really isn't worst for wear. from it
I had a IWB holster made for my Commander and carry my Defender and New Agent in it all the time.
I hade a summer special and couldn't stand it. Was uncomfortable . I sold it and 2nd owner agree with me(police officer) He sold in about 2 weeks. I buy my holsters now from http://ubgholsters.com a 1 man company and his waiting list is around 5 weeks.

Kimber Compact & holster

No, but I have carried in holsters for Commander with no ill effects. Holsters for OM unless open toed just don't accommodate my Compact Aluminum Stainless. I don't like IWB anyway (especially in a car).
Cheers, TF

I use the same IWB holster designed for full size Govt. model for both a Commander and a Para 14.45 with no problems.

I have a VMII for my Compact CDP. I also have a "watch six" for my UCII.

I like the WS better..not as thick...and more comfortable for me than the VMII. The advantage of the VMII is the stay open design that aids in re-holstering. I can reholster relatively easily with the WS....Im ok with that.
All MS holsters are top shelf tho.

Good luck!
