Hi. I often pocket carry the PF9, but I'd like the option of IWB carry as well - preferably relatively inexpensive. I'm a big fan of the Fist kydex rigs - and I'll lean towards that, but I'm interested in other opinions as well. What have you tried and what do you think?

Occasionally, I carry the PF9 IWB in a shark/horse Rafter S gunleather set-up designed for a subcompact Glock. I just squeeze the top a little for retention. All good for when the 27 is a bit too brickish for about town.

I carry my PT-709 (same size) in a cheapie Don Hume designed for a glock 26  Holds it low and tight to my body. Enables me to conceal it under the lightest of t-shirts.

Harmon I have one of those... they seem to be pretty good quality and I think they've done a really good job of making the things universal. The universality has it's pluses and its minuses.

I carry IWB with the KelTec belt clip.
Simple, inexpensive, very comfortable and concealable.
I was VERY reluctant to try it, but the dealer was adamant that I'd love it if I tried it.
He was right.

Just out of curiosity, and not to hijack, but I'm wanting to go the other way with mine.. from the Uncle Mike's IWB (which I have no problem with, but it fits my Bersa Thunder better) to a pocket holster for some occasions.. what are you carrying your pocketed PF-9 in currently?

I carry it in a Mika.

But the Desantis Nemesis is probably just as good.

BTW, I ordered the Kel-tec belt clip last night. I wonder how well I'll cope with carrying a chambered pistol inside my waistband with the trigger uncovered. Kinda scares me, but I believe I'da heard of any accidental discharges by now and Kel-tec woulda discontinued the things.

I have the belt clip on my P-11 and it works just fine. Even easier to conceal because ther is no holster material to make it any thicker than the actual weapon. When drawn the clip does not interfere with gripping the weapon in any way, for me at least.

I used to carry my PF in Highnoon Mr. Softy(same as the Bare Assest without the cant)..It does not look like much, but its the best holster for iwb carry...I mutilated mine to fit my current PT709Slim, someday I will get around to ordering a proper fit Mr Softy for the Slim, for now the old still works great.

here's it is with the PT709 Slim.

PF-9

I have a PF-9 and have purchased two holsters for it. The Grandfather Oak Kydex inside the waist band and a DeSantis Nemesis. I've tried to like the IWB holsters and have one for most of my pistols and use none. I don't really understand why anyone likes inside the waist band carry. I have several IWB holsters and all are uncomfortable to me. The Nemesis cost nothing ($20 at local gun shows) and is wonderful. I am oblivious to the pistol even being there. I've come close to carrying in Banks, Post Office etc. as I absolutely have no sensation of carrying at all. I really like this cheapo DeSantis. The PF-9 and this holster are a great combo in my opinion.

I carry my PF9 IWB in an MTAC holster very comfortably. I also like it because it is tuckable, though somewhat difficult to get the shirt bloomed, to hide the gun, it is possible. I have worn it many times tucked with my dress shirt. I never thought I would own a holster made of plastic, but the leather backer is very comfortable and durable. Having the plastic, Kydex, whatever it is called these days between the leather and the pants is not a problem.

Wow, mes, we are all different aren't we? I LOVE iwb and I can't see why anyone would ever use belt (owb) carry. The few times I've tried, the gun prints like I'm carrying a ceiling fan under my shirt.

I've gotten away from pocket carry recently because I'm wearing jeans so much these days and they don't work for me with pocket carry. But I go through phases... probably get back into pocket carry when the need arises.

I'd suggest you try a different carry rig, but it sounds like you've given them a chance. Have you tried the Fist? Those work for me.

I suppose it's just different strokes for different folks.

Oh and BigMike, it looks like you've spent almost as much on your carry rig as you did on your pistol.

JTQ, have you used one?
No I haven't. My smallest pistol is a 5" 1911 so my needs are a little different than the PF9 owner. However, I have been doing quite a bit of research in an attempt to expand my holster collection.

Those thin leather IWB holsters from High Noon look to me like the perfect fit for those small and light pistols like the PF9. Those clips look very strong and secure while the holster is thin and light.

The thin leather High Noon IWB (or their "Skin" OWB) models also look like an excellent option for those folks looking to try out a carry position before spending lots of money and waiting many months on a custom holster. You can get them quick and cheap and if you do end up getting a custom holster later on, those High Noon models are still a useful backup rather than the typical nylon economy holsters you find in gun stores.

I'll second the crossbreed mini-tuck I have one for an XD I reshaped the kydex on for my G21 SF and I can carry THAT big a gun with pretty good comfort...I want one for my PF9 next! I just bought another one...my wife got my first PF9 shortly after I brought it home.
