Im looking for a holster for my USPc. I prefer not to use kydex or similar material, but something a bit more sturdy than the $15 Uncle Mikes IWB holsters. Preferably, something on the smaller end of the range, like a Desantis holster. Any suggestions or experience?

holster option

I know it's not leather, but I use a "Belt Slide Holster" with a Sig P239 40S&W or P239 9mm SAS, usually under an untucked shirt. You'll find it at: http://www.activeprogear.com/76.html
It's been in use for over a year and it's not worn at all. Also, the price is right.

I have used this since Nov 2008. A Bladetech Nano IWB holster. Great holster. he pull straps are adjustable for 3 different belt widths. No need to buy seperate ones for each different size belt.

I just recently started carrying my Beretta 92FS, but whenever I carry my USPc45, I use the bladetech.

If you don't mind a hybrid (leather/kydex) you can try out the

Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe

I just got mine for my G19 the other day and I absolutely love it. The leather isn't even broken in yet but it's by far the most stable and comfortable holster I've run across. They already have the mold for a USPc so you wouldn't even have to wait that long. Mine took about 2.5 weeks from ordering to doorstep.

shipwreck, that holster is more my style...looks like Ill have to compromise. Combat, those are fine looking holster and have great reviews but seem kind of bulky.

I know you said not kydex.. I was really against this material too but after after I purchased an experimental holster from Comp-Tac for my usp-c, despite thinking they were pretty hideous, I'm pretty sold on the kydex holsters. I tried a galco summer comfort and a blackhawk nylon holster before and nothing keeps the handgun in place better than my comp-tac infidel because of the added strut and customizable clip/belt loop (by size). Kydex is pretty damn effective IMO..

For me the stuff they make @ FIST is the way to go. I have a 1A hybrid holster for each of my carry guns. Your choice of 8 different colors of leather. I like the hybrids as they are a kydex interior bonded to exterior leather design, so the holster retains it's shape and there is a positive "snap" when holstering. They have an extensive selection, and the holster is made when ordered, currently about a 5 week delivery time. Just ordered one for my wife's PPK/S. Great product and service. :D

I was very happy with the Galco Skyops when I carried a USPc 9mm. Some much so I carried a G26 in one as well, and plan to with my P239.

Like a lot of people, I've gone through a lot of IWBs in my search for the right tuckable holster for my Glocks (23 and 26), including the Milt Sparks and MTAC. My favorite is the Galco Skyops. It's made of a very thin leather, is almost invisible, and is extremely secure and comfortable. The price isn't too bad--$79.99 MSRP, with discounts available from a fair number of retailers.

See, I like the thinness of kydex over leather. And, I didn't want a huge piece of leather up against me, like the Crossbreed holster. This is just enough for the gun

Looks like I have some thinking to do. I found this cheapo holster: http://hideoutholster.com/beltclipholster.aspx

But I dont have much faith in it. I think for a high quality holster, I would get the higher end stuff in an OWB for competition, but for my IWB I want minimal material, and as best hiding of the firearm as possible. Looks like I will have to go with Kydex, but the idea of lined Kydex is very appealing, as this seems like it would wear the finish less. That is, unless I am mistaken.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions- Ill get on the research asap.

Most of the wear on the gun from kydex will be on the high points of the slide and on the trigger guard of the frame.

Its really no big deal.

If I wipe the slide down in Breakfree CLP - and then wipe it down with a towel - you hardly see the holsterwear on the slide. I like HK's finish in that regard.

Gotcha shipwreck. I think Ill just deal with it. This is a gun I want to keep with me my entire life, so what difference would it make anyway.

Next on the block, a competition approved OWB holster and mag holster.
