I have been using a pocket holster for my LCP but I wanted another carry option such as IWB or OWB. I am not looking for a hybrid for reasons I won't go into. If I go IWB or OWB I usually prefer my 1911 or glock but I would like to also carry the LCP sometimes in those configurations especially when I have to drive for long distances.

I don't want to spend more than $60 shipped for a holster and do not want a long wait (more than 3 weeks).

So far my options for OWB:
Hayes holsters
Fobus paddle

IWB
Alabama kydex IWB
Aholster.com IWB kydex
Uncle Mikes #10 IWB
Fist kydex IWB
High Noon bare asset or split decision IWB

Please list suggestions. Pics of your lcp in holster would be awesome if possible.

EDIT: Feel free to post pics of holsters you use for similar pocket 380s such as Taurus Tcp, S&W Bodyguard, Kahr P380 etc.

I am one of the few that likes OWB holster (leather pancake). Reason being is I find it more comfortable to wear OWB and with such a small pistol its still very easy to conceal. I don't have any pictures but I use a cheap little Barsony Leather Pancake and it works great at about 2 o'clock. Of course there is nicer holsters out there, next holster I want for it is fobus for easy quick on and off.

Zerodefect,

I own a Crossbreed Supertuck for my Glock. I think it is a great holster that is very comfortable and conceals well.

Reason I don't want to buy one is that I can make the same style of holster myself for much cheaper. The reason why I just don't make the holster for myself is that I don't have the time right now but will in the the near future. Also I just don't like the look of hybrid holsters despite their functionality.

Sure stinks that your trying to avoid Crossbreed IWB holsters for some reason.

Yeah. Crossbreed and the like are great holsters and the most comfortable for IWB.

However, my state has some laws that require me to disarm at many places I frequent. Wearing an empty holster annoys me. I'd rather slip something off and back on, and the crossbreed's width makes that difficult...that same width that also makes it so comfortable.

So I just prefer smaller holsters (like the galco summer comfort for IWB instead of the crossbreed...not as comfortable as a hybrid but easier to put on and off) that I can slip off and on easier. OWB makes it that much more easy.

Well crossbreed-style holsters are really ugly...but if everyone can see it you are wearing it wrong.

IWB

That's the idea of having the LCP in the first place or so I thought? It's a pocket rocket for those times when you can't CCW something bigger so you can slip it into your pocket?? If your looking for another option it can be as simple as getting one of those clips from Kel-Tec and just clip it to your pants or what ever you are wearing and a simple t-shirt will cover it or just fold over a tucked in shirt to cover it, or get a IWB holster that fits you comfortably.

I have bought only two IWB holsters for my LCP, one ballistic nylon that I paid $15. for and a leather one that I paid $25. for. They both can be used as a pocket holster by removing the metal belt clip or leave it on for IWB.

99% of the time I pocket carry it. And if I can't 99.9% of those times I CCW something bigger. And .09% of the time I IWB carry my LCP. Like I said that is why I bought it to pocket carry it when I can't CCW a bigger gun.

Personally I can't see spending a lot of money on a fancy holster unless your trying to make a fashion statement. I would rather spend it on ammo or better yet use it to buy another gun. I bought two quality holsters for less than what some will spend on one.

It isn't like a pair of shoes that everyone is going to see it? What is its real intention? You can just stick your naked gun in your pants pocket or waist band but is that real smart to do? So you buy a holster to safely hold your firearm so you can carry it without it just going off at the wrong time if you carry it in your pocket and also so it doesn't print, and so you don't drop it if you IWB carry, or so you can OWB carry? You can't just velcro it to your side.

Don't know what area your in but if you OWB carry and can not OC then you'll need to wear something to cover it to conceal it.

Also, some of us have a box of holsters for some of our guns that we bought that we do not like or use anymore. So that is why I don't like to buy over the WWW because you can't try before you buy and most times when you do buy you can't return it so I like to try it on to see how it fits. And if you can return it your out the shipping cost which can sometimes be at least $20 bucks wasted! If you can just throw away $20 bucks please send it to me, because if say just only 200 viewers see this and just 10% can then I'll have $400 dollars to buy a new gun with.

And when you do desire to get a new holster bring what ever gun with you so you can see how it fits because I've been shopping for a holster and the one in the labeled bag either didn't fit the gun or it was the wrong one in the bag or it didn't feel comfortable for me to wear. Do you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on??

I OWB my large guns ( usually while hunting ) I carry a concealable handgun IWB. For the size of the LCP I would consider pocket or IWB carry only. If I was carrying OWB I would go with much more gun than any 380.

^^^ that is why I only OWB my LCP .09% of the time, but there are those very very rare times, because of where I'm going, that I can't OWB/CCW something bigger, and it's better then nothing

After all isn't bigger better :neener:

Just a tshirt works for me on a 9mm that is slightly bigger than the LCP. It is way more comfortable than IWB and allows me to do my normal active stuff outdoors. Bending, stooping, climbing or crawling is a little trickier when I carry IWB.

I see no point of putting such a small holster on your waist, that is where my primary pistol goes, with the pocket gun goes in the pocket, IMO.

I am looking at LCP's right now, they are nice little guns. It came down to the LCP and the P3at. And IMO, the LCP is nicer in fit and finish, and is more reliable(from what I hear). So LCP it is, just a matter of when I actually get it. Christmas list...... :)

You carry a gun that small when you can't carry the larger one you normally carry. If you can still carry it OWB concealed...why not? Faster draw and more comfortable than in my pocket.

I carry my LCP in IWB Uncle Mike's #10, usually at 4 o'clock. It disappears, and is comfortable. It is nice for working out, for instance, or any situation where your shirt could be lifted up. I also IWB it in jeans and such just because it is so comfortable. Pocket carry is nice too but for $12 I just got the IWB thinking why not, and it works. Anything bigger I'd invest in a pricier holster, but for 10 oz +/- the UM#10 is great.

I prefer OWB for all my handguns. The LCP in a pancake holster disappears and is an actual pleasure to carry. I've come to the conclusion that carrying in the same manner makes a lot of sense from a training and proficiency perspective. I (IMHO) find that it helps with muscle memory response, draw time, etc. and is one less thing to think about. So from full size down to sub compacts... It just seems to work. YMMV

A pancake holster would conceal the best.....that being said I always carry mine in a cheap fobus paddle holster, belt or no belt. I wear mine with just a tee untucked and it's not different than having my cell phone in it's holster on my other side. Same size same weight.

Of the summer with my cargo shorts I carry it in a pocket holster.

I have a Don Hume IWB in black leather. Model # H715M N. 80-2". It's perfect for jeans when the pocket holster is just a bit tight and I'm not in the mood to carry a heavier gun. T-shirt covers it fine and I forget I'm wearing it. I think I paid 25 bucks at the LGS for it. It's a great little holster and easy to take on and off with the metal clip. The clip has a rough edge that likes to eat leather car seats and recliners, so I covered the end with the fuzzy side of black velcro. Fills the need perfectly and cheaply.

IWB is infinitely more concealble.

Depends on the person. On me any IWB looks like a gigantious (now it's a word) cancer on my hip. An OWB holster looks like a cellphone under my shirt.
But in any case, my vote is OWB, because IWB for me is ... ugh. No good.

I usually like IWB, but have never carried a gun this small and thin that way. IWB holds the grip very close to your body, and this gun has little to grip. I might be inclined to go with an OWB (but not a paddle) for this one. I do have favorable experience, should you decide to go IWB, with the High Noon Bare Asset.
