I have a G23, and have been using an IWB holster since getting my CHL. I would like to try a OWB holster, but don't know what kind to get. I like leather more than Kydex. I have tried an Uncle Mike's and Fobus, and did not really care for either. They did not hold the G23 close enough to my body to conceal very well. I have no preference on paddle, belt slide or pancake; I just want something that is going to hold the weapon tight to the body (Like IWB does).

Leather is not a must, but prefered. Would like to stay in $100.00 range.
Here are a few that I have been looking at; any opinions:

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may offer.

Belt Pal

I wear the Belt Pal from www.pagerpal.com with a full-sized 1911 and find that it conceals great (usually wear an untucked t-shirt and unbuttoned Hawaiin over the top, etc.) and is very comfortable (takes a couple of days to get used to.) The only problem is retention. If you do a handstand or a somersault, it is coming out...no question. But then, hey, if i'm tucking and rolling the thing better be in my hand anyway.

I have Galco Concealable for my SP101. It is holds the gun fairly high and close to the body. The side of the holster against the body is pretty flat. It was around $65 locally I think. It's holding up well. Worth a look anyway.

I highly suggest you check out Milt Sparks products. I have one of his IWB's for my Kimber Pro and have been very happy with it's comfort & concealability.

I have used several holsters from Hoffner's with excellent results. http://www.hoffners.com They are very well made, and customer service is first class. I've been carrying a full size 1911 in their ITP-3 Pro for a couple of years now and I love it.

Unfortunately I have to go in public with him when he's wearing that God-Awful Hawaiian shirt. It's more of a deterrent than the pistol! :neener:

But it IS hard to see any pattern. Your eyes are so scorched by the ugly colors that there's little chance of detecting his 1911. And it's better than his "Fanny pack."

I'm happy with FIST holsters. He makes leather, kydex or leather over kydex. I've only tried his IWB. Plan on ordering a OWB soon. He hake all holsters to order.
