J.P. Sauer & Sohn Federal Marshal .44 Mag

Hi there, new here. I just bought a Hawes import J.P. Sauer & Sohn Federal Marshal .44 Mag and i cannot find any bit of info on them at all. Anyone know anything about them, or know where i could get info? i guess its a sibling of the western marshal and deputy marshal. looks almost exactly like the western, but i dont know how old it is, or the value, or anything. Thanks

Hawes was a Southern Calif. importer/distributor who was in business during the late 1960's-mid 70's time frame.
They have been out of business about 40 years now.

The Hawes guns were O.K., if not up to the quality of Colts & Rugers of the day. They were cheaper though.

Your problem now will be finding repair parts if & when it breaks.

did not know that, thanks rc. so far all i know is its over 40 years old and i was told it was very rare (dont know how rare for sure) but i picked it up for $250 with a brick of .44 rem. mag 240 grain rounds and a half brick of hollow points
