Ok so i was taking this shotgun apart to clean it as it was not functioning, this is an old family gun that i ended up with and really wanted to get it working again, so i take apart and clean and the safety plunger and plunger spring came out when i took the trigger group apart to clean it. Where in the world does this go back into? I have searched for plunger holes and marks and there is nothing, i cant find anything on the internet to help me? PLEASE HELP

Are you sure that's a model 520? I looked at gunpartscorp.com's schematics for the 520 and 520A and both show a hole in the trigger guard, just behind the trigger, where a safety button would reside. In your pic #151630 there's no such hole.

not totally sure but looking at the 520 it is almost identical to mine
 
I have figured it out, there is a small whole in the side of the safety itself that this rides in and puts tension on the side of the trigger guard that causes the safety to hold in position of safe or fire, thanks for the help
 
And yes, that is a 520. It is an early one with inertial rebound feature. Numrich doesnt always cover all variations.

glad you got it back together. Go shoot it! I take mine dove hunting sometimes.
 
I ended up getting a fire control group for that gun when looking for replacement parts for my 620A and I doubt I’m going to be able to utilize it.

I would have to dig through my parts to locate it but it might be something good to keep on hand so PM me if you’re interested.
