Oh yeah...

Art,

Way back when, we had a 1974 GMC Pickup with a grill guard and a small chair fixed to it (think Hatari). We occasionally used it to rope cattle in open pastures when a horse wasn't handy.

It made for a dandy rabbit seat. (When Dad wasn't around :D )

I still wonder how I came out of my youth alive, considering some of the rabbit hunts I've been on.

Smoke

Granted I'm not in TX .
I'm not as learned as Smoke as far as cattle , horses and such...

I do know about headlights, older trucks by GMC , Chevy, and Ford Bronco's ( 70's vintage)...etc and ...err... well a model 70 or a model 94 with iron sights do take Jacks at night. :D

Somebody has to feed the next order up the food chain - right? Also a good way to learn to roll when you fall off a vehicle...

Do NOT tether yourself to said vehicle....trust me on this....

I think Smoke and I must be related or something....I was not supposed to have made it to my current age....umm bets were I would never make it out of my teens...fooled them folks , and myself. ;)

R-e-a-l slow cast iron dutch oven over a open fire wth 'taters works , I add some tomato, celery and onions...

Crockpot will work , not the same tho'.

psst....real good way to sharpen skills with a shotgun using slugs...yeah it works...umm...you really don't want to know ;)
