The whole gun. Unmolested.
........... I really like it and believe it would be an enhancement to an old High Standard, ( aka J.C. Higgins Mod. 20), pump for general all around usage. My only complaint about my 20 ga. Mossberg 500 is that it's an early model with the single action bar, although it's in beautiful shape. At least on my Mossberg I have the option of easily swapping to a different barrel in a few short minutes. This just jogged my memory that I did receive an extra barrel with the gun when I got it and I've never put it on, (yet)...... A factory 20 ga. full choke 28" barrel that I never put on because the C-Lect choke has a full choke setting and it works well. I'll have to put this one on and pattern test it just out of curiosity. ... ... ... Charlie Martinez nailed it with the predicted regret about altering it. I'd definitely leave it "as is" and sell it if just won't fit into the OP's needs & wants and seek out something that can get a quick & easy barrel swap. You have what I consider to be the best adjustable choke out there. Hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it.
Both. They work better that way.The whole gun or the adjustable choke?
