I've noticed a few JC Higgins threads pop up and it made me think of my own rifle sitting in the gun cabinet. I have a JC Higgins model 50 in 270 win. Does anyone know anything about these rifles. On the barrel it reads Sears and Roebuck 583.95. The action says made in Belgium. I believe that that is an FN action but not sure. The gun shoot's ok, the trigger pull is horrible. I've had the gun since my 16th B-day about 17 years ago. I haven't used the gun for quite a fews years now manly because of the ugly trigger and I found a gun I liked to shoot better. Any information you could give me would be great. Thanks.

This mauser represents the best of the Sears firearms. It is a FN
mauser and they seem to be sought after by collectors and shooters.
Value wise I would guess north of 450; with higher condition bringing
higher price.
