It was a long few days but I was able to build a 12x15 foot deck off of the original shooting shed (7x10), add a roof and tie it into the shed, bench(s), rehab the pistol range and redo the rifle range backstop (old foundation, back wall had fallen down over time so a bunch of stone work) followed by a new backstop/target holder.
The previous owner use to shoot out of the shed, too cramped for me, I prefer to be outdoors but do like some cover (mostly for the range bags/guns etc)
Getting started
About done, I used clear roof panels for extra light it would let in
pistol range, 50 yard
Rifle range, what is downrange of shooting deck/shed, 100 yards, rebuilt foundation wall and new backstop/target holder
Closer look at target holder, 6x6 construction with 'vents' to allow some action targets such as clays, cans (as seen) etc. as the wood gets shot up, it can easily be exchanged with the removal of 2 lags
target board placed, has a 6x6 on the back that fits into any of 3 slots as needed
Side view of target stand, it has 3 hanging 3/4" 4x6' rubber mats inside and one on top, 2 smaller 3x4' on each side to cut down/stop ricochets. These just clip in and can be exchanged as needed, side panels can be flipped up for access
Just need to mount the 22 caliber spinner/reset target off to right side (that is why lowest 6x6 is longer and some finish work on deck along with a ceiling fan (bug control)
