So I have been in the market for a set of stainless 1911's. The plan was to get them engraved and trick them out. Pretty much wanted the movie gun/bookcase display gun look. The main reason behind them is that one of them will be given to my best man in my upcoming wedding. So anyways...Here they are!

I'm going to get some nicer grips, engraving with some choice words and such, and maybe some trigger work as they they leave something to be desired in that department. Enjoy! Any suggestions for bling?

Thanks!

Very nice.

But the question remains....

Have you ever fired two guns whilst flying through the air?

Wow, you are a very generous groom. I have been a best man once, I didn't get so much as a thank you for all the time and money I spent making his wedding and bachelor party a reality (thousands). Then to top it off a couple months later he "disagreed" with me about introducing my daughter to guns at an early age, then CPS showed up at my door. You know, come to think of it, I am going to start a new thread about it.

But point is you must be a really awesome guy for doing that, and I commend you for showing the appreciation that good groomsmen, particularly the best man deserve. Well done.

Man, that guy sounds like a <removed>.

And thanks, sir.

My best man has been my best friend since we were youngsters and we have always talked about having matching 1911s. He deserves a lot AND he arrives from his deployment in Afghanistan tomorrow so this is my thank you gift as well.

On a separate note, how hard is it to polish these things to a high gloss/chrome look?

not hard at all, just takes some time and elbow grease, some mothers billet polish an a micro fiber cloth. I did a stainless 500 magum I bought new a couple years ago and started a thread about it. unfortunately the pics are no longer up, but here's the link.

for the record, it came out beautifully, and I sold it afterward, and made a 200$ profit.

I'll see if I can dig up the pictures some time tomorrow.

As captain awesome stated, Mothers Mag Polish works great on stainless steel. With a few applications you can give it a bright and shiny mirror-like finish.
