I have searched here and google for info, but I cant seem to find the info
I want.Do any of you have a gun from this serial lot(ruger p94 serial 380-383***) and how many problems has it given you,do you have to maintain it alot more than your glock? How many rounds have you shot out of it?My biggest concern is I bought this gun hearing rugers are built like tanks and Im worried because I cant find very many first hand accounts of it's fortitude.I have looked on ruger forum, but I couldnt join for email reasons, so searching hasnt been easy.I paid $316.00 O.T.D. for this, I wanted a gun that is basically glock reliable without the glock price(they are high in my area)
I was amazed by how well taken care of this gun is,im far from what you would call knowledgeable, but I swear its 98% atleast, which is why i had to get it.

thx in advance for any info/replies.

The P94 doesn't seem to have been very popular--maybe because the P95 came out very soon after the P95 and sold better.

There's nothing wrong with the P94 pistols that I'm aware of. Shoot it a lot, maintain it as you would any other pistol and it should last forever.

I would keep the frame/slide rails/grooves lubricated pretty well. I'm not saying to leave them dripping or anything, I'm just saying that it needs a little more than the single drop that Glock recommends for each frame/slide rail on their pistol.

My P94 has an earlier serial number.... but it is still my "go to" gun.....it doesn't jam and just fits right in my hand..... it is a point and shoot gun.... I tend to be more accurate with it than my other handguns.

Have both the 9mm and the 40 caliber version. Only slight issue I have had over the years was the retained recoil spring became un-retrained on the 40 caliber one almost immediately...slight issue only because it has not affected function in any way. Shoot them both very well.

I had a KP94DC (9mm stainless w/ decocker). It was very reliable and the only problem I can report is some gouging on the guide rod by the recoil spring. Be sure to keep it lubed and you will like it.

thx for the relies

i apprecite the replies guys, i needed some1's first hand experience with this gun.thhx a bunch

I have a 340 serial number prefix P-944T a .40 caliber P-94. It is a good gun. Takes a little more training to learn because of the DA/SA trigger but it is an excellent gun. Don't know if this will help but there are 2 rugerforums- www.rugerforum.com & www.rugerforum.net if one wouldn't let you join maybe the other would.

? about ruger p-series internals

Does any1 know if the p-series have all metal internals,i examined my p94 and they appear to be metal(atleast the parts i can see with only a field strip),but i am not well versed in firearms,so if any of you have been brave enough to detail strip yours, are they all metal inside?
